A ten-year-old at a prestigious uptown all-girls academy is having trouble fitting in when one of her teachers suggests she join the chess club, leading to her being ridiculed by her schoolyard nemesis for attempting to learn. Motivated to learn, she asks a grizzled chess veteran to teach her to play.
