Why is no one stating the obvious

this show wants to be the Sarah Silverman Show. Oh and it's not funny, but it's ok to run in the background while doing something.

just watched the first four eps on demand, thought it was pretty good

I hope you have an army of raisins cause I've got a major scoop!

Comedy is subjective, what you may not find funny, others will. I think this show is hilarious. The first two episodes were a little rough around the edges, but they were still funny. The third and fourth episodes were hilarious.

I don't see much similarity to the Sarah Silverman Program (actual title, just as an aside). The tone and style of comedy is different, and the fictional world of Silverman's show was more dramatically divorced from reality. For example, she didn't play herself, except in a broad way. In the show, she wasn't a comic, just a complete slacker supported entirely by her sister.

Curious...what comparisons would you draw to Sarah Silverman's show? I don't see a lot.

I think it's funny enough, but I like quirky humor, so that helps. There's no way I could run this in background and do something else, though - Katie Miccuci is just too damn cute.

...if this show is trying to be the Sarah Silverman Program because it has a female trying to be funny then I guess Sarah Silverman was ripping off I Love Lucy, right?

Pretty sure these are two comedians that do comedy together and someone simply had an idea that that might make a show... and here we are.

Based on their already established comedy routine... how else would you imagine their show to be?

In the same manner, the show is MUCH more like The Flight of the Concords, but I'm not so sure that that's because they were blatantly trying to rip that show off (why would you when it wasn't exactly a hit?) but because it would only be natural for a similar comedy routine to evolve into a very similar show.
