The soundtrack for a Cat Ballou remake

I was watching the originial Cat Ballou film the other day and thinking how awesome it would be if Garfunkel and Oates played a female version of the singing duel that Nat King Cole and Stubby Hayes played in the first film. I think there music style mixed in with some western flare would be perfect. They can take the ballad of Cat Ballou and make it their own, mixing their own humor & music. Riki and Kate would def look cute as heck dressed up as cowgirls.

Im not saying a remake can ever outdo the orginial or even that there should be a remake but if there was then Garfunckle and Oates doing the soundtrack and appearing as comic narrators singing the story would provide something fresh and funny for a new version. anyone agree?

For those who do not know the film im talking about, Cat Ballou is a 1965 western/comedy starring Jane Fonda and Lee Marvin
