They all got along

I just watched the extras on the dvd, and was annoyed that the director talked about the four women getting along. Would this even be a point to raise if it was an all male cast? I just don't understand on the extras, and indeed this message board, why the sex of a person, completely reflects the quality of a tv show. Can't a great show, just be a great show?
