MISCAST: Sophie Rundle as Lucy

Sophie Rundle is only 25 and she is cast as someone who worked as someone who worked at Bletchley Park ten years prior to the current setting (1953).

Therefore she would have only been 15 which is far too young I would imagine. Even if they have cast her as older than her real age it is a miscast because if anything she looks younger than 25, not older.

"Never Eat More Than You Can Lift" - Miss Piggy.

reply

Not necessarily - I imagine her character was recruited straight out of school.

reply

During war time the authorities were more interesting in her ability to remember vs her age.

White - Pestilence
Fiery Red - War
Black - Famine
Pale - Death

reply

Exactly how many people have a photographic memory?

reply

Not that many.

It doesn't seem that big a deal now since we have powerful computers. But back then computers were just getting started. So having a person around who remembered dates, names and other pattern info clearly was useful.

reply

A remarkable skill indeed, especially when she (facing the seated 'Marta) was able to read and remember all the Cyphers and Maltese writing on the opened Pages in the book which would appear to her - Upside Down.

reply

She was playing a character a handful of years older, and the character would have been recruited for her extraordinary ability, not her age.
