Susan Gray is a hypocrite.

In season one, she runs toward danger and don't listed to anybody and in season two, she doesn't want to put herself or her family in danger. It didn't cross her mind that chasing a murderer is dangerous in season one?

That's what I thought. Having seen how it impacted her marriage and family, she wasn't eager to go through it all again.

I agree with the other posters, but also, I don't think she "ran towards danger" in season 1 so much as she was desperate to relive her glory days at Bletchley, to be relevant again.

She felt backed into a corner as Crowley had already breached her home when he left her Crossword with 3 numbers unanswered that said 'I know where you and your family live'. She felt she had no choice but to kill him by herself without involving her friends, thus protecting them. I can understand her blinkered mind set.
