Did Anybody Else Notice...

that when Haley/Emma is calling her mom, and later the police, the "phone" she's "talking" on is actually a cassette tape? Seriously. if you have a DVR, freeze the scene where she starts to drop the phone, and they do a close up of the "phone," while giving a see-through shot between her hand and leg to view the woman who kidnapped her. I mean, you can even see the sticker on the face of the cassette, and the little "A" in the corner (which indicates side "A" for those of you unfamiliar with cassette tapes).

Even if you don't freeze the scene, it's so obvious when she picks up the "phone" to call her mom, that it's a cassette tape and not a phone. My question is, why did they have her use a cassette tape instead of actually using a cell phone? This was filmed in 2012. They had real cell phones at that time, lol.

Lazy props people, maybe?

I just noticed that but thought it was just a "retro" style phone case.

These are all over Amazon and eBay if you want one... If it actually made you think that the movie used a cassette tape for a phone because it was too cheap to have scrounged up a prop phone, they must be amazing...

I...thought that was a phone sticker or case...that was not a cassette tape.

That was her phone casing.. In the style of a cassette tape. It's shown throughout the entire movie and was pretty obvious.
