shareYeah, it was a little wink to Mike. When Chris used the phrase on the stand, I thought that it was a key plot element-- the revelation of a twist, though for the life of me, I couldn't figure out what exactly. I felt that I had missed something due to not being bright enough or that the film maker had failed in making a proper build-up to it. It seemed to have affected Mike rather deeply. The only thing that occurred to me, was that Chris was revealing that the speech he had just delivered was really something he had written beforehand and wasn't all that true. His speech does sound like an amateurish bit of writing and came off phony-sounding to me as he spoke it (which, at the time, I put down to bad script-writing, but it made sense when he winked at Mike, which to me revealed that it was all BS-- a bit of Chris' writing.
