What happened to her being Mayor?

Wasn't she mayor in the last movie? elected in the fourth and mayor in the 5th? surely she cant have finished her term so soon especially since Martha's husband was Mayor for so long.
This films just seemed to take 3 steps back all of a sudden. if it had not been for the baby and the elopment thing i would have thought this was 3 good witch movies ago.
main question- why isnt she mayor? did i miss something in the last film? did she resign?

if he isnt then thats such a pity 😞 i especially like Chris Potter both as an actor and in this series. 😞

I thought that she decided to step down in "The Good Witch's Charm".
