I enjoyed this one a lot more than the last couple Good Witch movies. It was much more like the first movie - Grey House, the Grey Lady, and lots of mystery.
Yay! I have it recorded and can't wait to watch it! Glad to hear its more like the first movie than the last couple.
shareI just watched it. HUGE IMPROVEMENT, I came here to say the same thing! Much much better than the last few, definitely the very last. I was worried because they filmed both episodes or 'movies' in 2 weeks and the last one was a huge disappointment that looked rushed so CB could get on with her twitter habit. I thought it was only going downhill from there. Glad they surprised us! It would appear the producers have read here and granted us our wishes of more magic and back to Grey House! AND we also had... THE GRANDPA again!
What makes the movie work besides the entire cast is:
The set
The props (and they had some new magical ones this time)
The colors
The music
The opening credits
And, may I add, the costumes look somewhat improved, at least the party's, Martha always cleans up well. Loved seeing Lisa Ryder, she looks better than she has in a while, the hair color softened up was a huge improvement on her; back to blonde would be even better and SMILE LADY!!! Never mind what idiot fans said in the 90's: long face is bad, perky is good!

More Grey House with more of the "creepy" vibe, though we did have some
That "flapper lady" who bought the aphrodisiac oil in E01
Abigail, the cousin
More magic.
SUGGESTION:
An animal-centric movie. Cassie talked to that dog in E01 so she's into animal communications. It would be really nice to see her help some dogs, I don't know, not a script writer here but just something helping a dog find its owner, or rescue some animals, if they could work in something like that, I'm sure everyone who enjoys these movies would love some animal magic. If they can get Isis back and the cat helps the dog, think inter-species friendship like those popular youtube videos, they'll have a winner for next one. Or the one after that.
The party was a step in the right direction so far as "Halloweeny" but we need to see carved pumpkins and trick or treating kids and Cassie's house having some decorations. I get that it's low budget but come on now! I saw Chris Potter & Catherine Bell's names as co-producers; not sure what this means, I saw that in previous movies, but I'm sure it means they have more control here so surely they can shell out some of their pay to make the decorations more into the Halloween spirit. Give us some ghouls hanging outside business windows, some remotely operated ghosts that spook someone, just...something more Halloweeny than this!
Also, if they still don't want to commit to is she a witch or is she just a "New Age" lady, then just a bit more magic, please! Though, yes, we did have more than the last few times, though it's more "mystery" like OP called it, so it's a step in the right direction.
I noticed they changed the police station, the store looks changed again but they kept the nice vibe. I was glad they did something better with the store and cool props. Hard to believe that she can keep the shop open and pay rent just selling oils at $5 a bottle, stinky scented candles, peacock feathers and weird masks all year round. But I don't mind suspending disbelief as long as the production is back to cool as it was early on!
All in all a great show this time around. Too bad they messed up Geordie Johnson's as I really enjoy this actor in everything I've seen him in. It's also too bad the series is only 1 episode a year, the kids have grown and usually it means the show goes downhill as they take it in a new direction. Here's hoping they cancel the main leads' current regular shows so they can make more of these. Think Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Eve, heck, even Valentines Day, Solstice or whatever to keep up with the festivities (just skip Easter, LOL!) Don't worry CP and CB could definitely find something else to do in between making more of TGW series!
They are trying to make a television series of "The Good Witch"; take a look at CB's IMDB page, and you will see that its in production - I just would love for a television series, b/c I can NEVER get enough of the movies. I just adore CB, and I hope the television series is a hit; I always hated waiting for the next movie. If they make the show, I AGREE I hope it goes a little "darker" as well, and would also love if Cassie DID help animals find there home since we know she can communicate w/animals (dogs-cats). Anyway I noticed CB and CP being co-producers for the last movie, so they will probably be able to give ideas for the show and give there input towards the show. AGAIN I'm so hooked on "The Good Witch" movies, and haven't missed any, but I always re-watch the movies over and over b/c I never get sick of them. I adore CB so much, she is so beautiful and I also have respect for her b/c she really has showed so much support for the men and women in the military- serving our country. She's a big advocate for them, just like Gary Sinese (another favorite actor of mine). LET'S HOPE THE TELEVISION SERIES IS A HIT - SPREAD THE WORD AND SUPPORT THIS TELEVISION SHOW; ITS SO DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SHOWS. SUCH AN AMAZING CAST AS WELL. I LOVE THEY KEEP THE SAME KIDS FOR THE ROLES INSTEAD OF RECASTING LIKE OTHER SHOWS DO. LONG LIVE THE GOOD WITCH :) PS - CB'S NEW HAIRCUT IS AMAZING, IT SHOWS HER GORGEOUS FEATURES, CP IS ALSO SUCH A HANDSOME MAN TOO.
IF THE TELEVISION SHOW DOESN'T WORK (NOT TRYING TO BE NEGATIVE) I HOPE THEY CONTINUE W/THE GOOD WITCH MOVIES AND ALSO ADD IN A LITTLE "DARKNESS" LIKE THE GREY LADY - NOT TOO DARK BUT YEAH IT NEEDS SOME DARKNESS TO CONTINUE MAKING IT INTERESTING. SORRY FOR MY RAMBLING, JUST LOVE ALL THE MOVIES SO MUCH; HOPE EVERYONE UNDERSTANDS ?? ALL "THE GOOD WITCH" MOVIES ARE SUCH GEMS, AND VERY SPECIAL AS WELL.
I enjoyed this one best of the three that I have seen so far. I like it that Cassie gets ostracised for her magic and everything seems to be going wrong for her. The Grey Lady mystery from the past seems to correlate with what is happening to Cassie. And the shared birthday. I don't if her birthday has been disclosed before. But October 24th. That just gets her over the cusp into Scorpio most likely. There are no people like Scorpios to be involved in good mysteries.
