Good writing, corney storyline ending

I thought the lead actress, Charlotte De Brunee was terrific, and her character (Isabelle) had lots of personality. In contrast, the Jamie Dornan character (Colin) was boring and simple. He only had two expressions. He was either in serious thought or in painful struggle. He never smiled or laughed. I don't believe Isabelle would have been attracted to such a dead fish. He wasn't any fun --- no personality at all.

I thought the writing was really good and the dialog was realistic and smart.

But the end conflict was kind of corney. I don't believe successful, high-powered financial sharks like the Colin character would lose sleep over a stupid bird. And as it turned out, he apparently didn't lose his job either because of such a foolish move. Thankfully, that Arab sheikh luckily had a super warm heart. People don't act like that in international finance. Also, I don't believe Isabelle and her father would have been impressed with his sophomoric attempt to make things right in the end. I think they would have rolled their eyes and said, "This guy is kinda stupid".

But, if you want to suspend disbelief for the sake of dramatic romance and a happy ending, well I guess you will buy the corney and unrealistic finish where everything works out.

I thought the movie was well done but the end is a real eye roller.

I believe he lost sleep because of his connection to the birds per his great grandfather. The family is everything bit he lied about in the beginning turned out to be true. He "found" himself there.
