Waiting for Godot, Dark Star, Clerks, The Battery

Getting a strong sense that this is "Godotesqe" based on the overall style and a few possible key nods. Both start with one character changing their old boots, the other pacing around uncomfortably, both have two characters with no actual sense of direction, one content and the other not. They both only have a visit from 3 other characters, a mute slave and his talking companion, and a small cryptic boy. Egghead never breaks into a huge soliloquy or anything but the similarities are there.

I really like this kind of film, I can see why a LOT of people are getting their underoos in a twist because they have ADD and can't be happy unless something is blowing up or farting every 30 seconds. But films like this are necessary refreshing breaks in genres that have become trudges.

Waiting for Godot did it for theater, Dark Star did it for sci-fi, Clerks did it for comedy and The Battery does it for the tired trope filled zombie genre. Bravo.
