How much different would you have viewed the whiny one if he raped

the zombie like was supposedly in the original screenplay.

There's very little chance that such a scene could work.

I'm not squeamish, and I think I'd take a very pragmatic view of life in the ashes of civilization.

Having said that, the notion that a character might rape a zombie is potentially repugnant to a viewer for three reasons:

1. It's rather gross, no?

2. It's an inexcusable desecration of human remains.

3. However you feel about zombies, rape is going to elicit very strong responses.

I believe the director didn't intend to have the character go through with it, which might have mitigated the "ick" factor, but it would almost certainly scuttled the film for a lot of viewers.

He was whiney and unlikeable but i almost became neutral towards him when he showed he could kill a zombie when forced. I found it amusing he was playing with himself at the worst and most inappropriate times. When he returned to the car i thought he might actually have redeemed himself somewhat due to the slight change in his character.

To have him rape the zombie would have made that journey impossible and pushed him from whiny to absolutely sick.

I just can't imagine how a zombie rape is supposed to work logistically, especially an impromptu one. I mean, Mickey would have to capture the zombie, tie her down in a position that would allow for penetration and also fix her head or her jaw to prevent her from biting him. It just seems like an awful lot of work for a spur-of-the-moment kind of thing. Jerking off really is the more plausible, less contrived action by comparison.

You obviously haven't seen The Zombie Diaries 2.

That's true. Should I? Is it any good?

Let's just say there's a scene that will put any conjecture about your speculations to rest.

Zombie Diaries is good enough in the sense that it came before "found footage" started coming up with ridiculously convoluted mechanics for why things are being recorded but does suffer from the "found footage kind of needs to be found" paradox.

If FF is your thing, the two entries are best viewed together as certain events in the first film don't pay off until the second (and it can be confusing that you're seeing them pay off if you aren't aware that a returning character or two is played by a different actor).

It's good for an evenings entertainment, but it was probably better before the FF genre became so over-saturated.

Thanks, I'll check them out.

Oh I don't know, push the zombie over on its stomach? Hold the neck down and do your thang? Good ol' prone bone. Those zombies didn't seem terribly strong or exhibit any noteworthy motor skills. I think a zombie rape would've been no problem.

I just wonder if the, er, "flesh" would remain intact or turn into mush.

....it would be interesting to see how the genre regards the exchange of bodily fluids regarding rape and becoming a zombie. Logically, if a bite will turn you, then so will sexual contact.
