I have a lot of questions about the ending. They didn't find out what happened to the guy that first dated Lee and her daughter. Also, this page lists the same actor as Peter AND John, WTF?. What am I missing here?

John ended up dead, having committed suicide. The same actor played Peter and John, because in her fantasy they were both sides of the same man--one was optimistic and one was pessimistic. As she returned to mental health, we learn that she no longer needs them to resemble each other, but we never find out who is the "original" man with that appearance.

The new owner/manager (female) took the police investigator to the upper level of the storage facility -- there's a unit where they both are repelled by the smell. When the investigator opens the door to the storage unit, it's obvious he sees the body - John had committed suicide. Even though we - the audience - do not see the body.
However, I was confused about the final scene where she was back in the war zone taking photographs. There was some narrative or self-thoughts which sounded like she could still be ill and that maybe this was still part of her fantasy?
