Really all this time and no opinions?
Yep, absolutely ridiculous premise, but that appears to be the norm in many, many other Japanese horror flicks as well and since the links to this have been repeatedly posted and reposted on the net, I had to take a look, apparently nobody else did or at least not left any remarks.
Anyway since learning today that this is being made into a trilogy I just had to comment, WTF Japan? Different cultures, different styles and themes yes, different strokes for different folks too sure, but wth? Is this some type of extremely odd Asian fetish or some absurd cultural difference in film? Sometimes you see something and I've seen every extreme of the most extreme horror, torture porn and hell, I've probably even seen an actual snuff film once or twice unknowingly, but there's a difference between being shocked or disturbed than this film here, where I'm just totally confounded and left to wonder about the strange psychology of this foreign land.
Ok so I did actually laugh hysterically at the start of this at something that I've never found humorous ever before(something which I will not speak of) but I couldn't get through the entire runtime(almost) nevertheless watch the identical theme in its two sequels.
Then again the Netherland's Tom Six has just completed filming for his The Human Centipede III The Final Sequence an equally confounding work that has become internationally infamous.
