Worst scientists ever. RANTING during film. Many spoilers.

So far-

Catastrophic accident. Many people probably dead. Scientist person goes in to ... I'm not sure what she's up to, but instead she finds a meteorite with a spore on it. So what does she do? What all good scientists do! Carry it into the last safe place where the other survivors are waiting for rescue. Open to the air. Without sealing it off. Get annoyed at the idea of quarantine.
Same scientist and her doctor ... lover?... later on play with spore and meteorite. While he's discovering it grows at amazing speeds in light (so therefore making sure it has SO MUCH LIGHT) she's cutting herself and not telling anyone she possibly exposed herself to spore via broken skin.
Clever.
Doesn't tell anyone she's feeling any strange things.
Doctor find out that someone is having an accelerated pregnancy (after they've all had some exposure to the spore)- and doesn't want to quarantine her! And when she (a scientist) finds out she's going into (un -enforced) quarantine she'll get so mad. And I still suspect they're an item. The only smart guy in this is apparently the 'bad' one. He wants to quarantine her and the rest of them are just grabbing her, holding her, bending over her, letting her expose them in multiple ways. No actual physical examination. Come on. Even a midwife could feel (and listen) for a living baby vs a mass.

Honestly... this whole film... they're the worst scientists ever.

'Hardass' bad guy tells people she's in quarantine and still lets them go in anyway when she's screaming. Blood everywhere, white things all over floor, they're all doomed by this point so I don't get it. If the Doctor insisted on remaining with her through the 'pregnancy' then they should have remained in the same room. No opening and closing doors. No new supplies. They survive in there till rescue.
Well, forget that logic, and forget that there's not nearly enough fluid/gunk on the ground to fill an entire womb to 9 months worth of expansion.

Also forget that there's two witnesses to 'something here'. Why question them separately, getting two separate descriptions, and matching them to see if they're hallucinating or not? Why do that? Let's just call it CO2crazytime. Because it can't be an alien fricken spore that no one understands.

OH&S would have them for dinner.

Also I need to point out how annoying it is that the doctor keeps shining his torch in people's faces as he's talking to them. Growing the spores within them. I bet.

So now we have another person with an infected bite on his own. Being eyeballed by sporebaby. I'm not sure if it wants to eat him or if it mated with him. Meanwhile (even though they think he's hallucionated being bitten) they expect him to fix solar panels?

Nice, guys. Nice. Also nice CG.

Aliensporebaby is obsessed with this guy. He's reminding me a little of a space spore Gollum.

They're saying that they can't call for help. Here's what I need to know- they're on the MOON.

We can see things. A lot of things. We could probably see our own moon base get hit and be aware they're in trouble.

Sporebaby has evolved! Sporebaby is now Sporeman! That's good news- we just have to wait a few more hours before he dies. Right? Crazy bitten guy found sporeman's old skin- WHY didn't he bring it to someone? Because that would be logical!

Oh- apparently the scientists DID have isolation cells.

Well *beep* Why didn't they use them when, I don't know, she wound up pregnant? Silly question?

I'm not sure I can watch anymore.

Thank you for ranting about everything I wanted to rant about.

I know people in horror movies are supposed to behave inexplicably stupid to keep the horror and plot going, but having scientists and military like personnel acting like drunken/stoned teenagers in their decision making was over the top.

Just to add one more bit of silliness, the doctor inexplicably was not able to tell the difference between a cut and a severe bite. When the doctor found the murdered mutilated engineer, I imagined him saying, "Boy, this guy sure seems prone to cuts".
