Because more people are in america so its more relatable, and i thiught astralia was all dessert and this movie has cities and things wich looks more like amerca. is a weird accents because its just is i cant explain it and i hate it
shareHi Casey,
I asked because you said the film would have been more realistic if set in America, that's all.
That you think Americans would relate to it more if it was set in the US because there are more people in the US than in Australia is fine by me.
But that raises a question. Would you watch Chinese or Indian films?
China (1.38 billion) and India (1.25 billion) have the first and second largest populations on the planet.
The population of the US is third (only 320 million).
But if you did then you'd have to watch films with subtitles (as I do).
Anyway, as for Australia being all desert, well that's possibly because the country is pretty arid when you get away from the coast. The film is also set in Perth in Western Australia, which is geographically similar to California, and so has similar vegetation and climate.
As far as the Australian accents in the film are concerned, I accept that they're possibly hard to understand if you're unfamiliar with them. The accents used aren't typical middle class ones, either (as heard in a lot of Australian films, that is) but that's no reason to hate them.

Stupidest thread I read in a long while but to answer your question Australians make movies too you close-minded American knucklehead
Mass genocide is the most exhausting activity one can engage in, next to soccer.

Seriously.......the person who started this topic.......what a *beep*
shareThis thread is exactly why people around the world often think of people from America as a bunch of sheep minded morons!
This was a cool movie, and I'm glad it was made in Australia. To this day I've only seen a couple Aussie stinkers. In general they make very good movies.
No we dont. Most are utter crap! But this was good.
shareBaa-aaa! 🐑
shareHa-ha. It was made in Australia because it's an Australian movie made by an Australian filmmaker about people in Australia. A whole lot of people throughout the world speak English with different accents, and some Americans have problems understanding them because many Americans have never met anyone from another country.
