Great Aussie effort and I'm surprised it's not better known.

Very watchable, gritty, well realised, depressing, an actual effort made to be realistic which is always welcome (not so much the science before anyone jumps all over me, but the human experience).

The first 10/15 minutes had me hooked (actually had me feeling quite shaky and sad, but in a good way), and it didn't falter after that. This movie kept working for it's money right to the end, not always the norm.

...then whoa, differences...

Yeah, I completely agree! This movie should be far more popular than it is. Everyone was cast very well and they all did such a great job! I was initially reluctant to watch it, but now, I'll be honest it's one of my favorite movies now! The "human experience" as you so eloquently put, is what got me hooked.

I agree, this film is knockout, sadly Australian films don't do too well at the Oz box office so that explains why it was not big in 2013.

However, it is now on Netflix in places like the USA so maybe word will spread that this is one of Oz's best movies ever!
