SPOILERS ALERT, at the end, when she returns...

... to Ben Affleck's character, after, spoiler alert, killing that man, do you think they will live happily ever after together and that Ben Affleck's character can live with Amy Dunn for the rest of his life and that she will never double cross him or worse try to stab him and kill him or anything like that?

Besides, do you think she has reformed when she returned to him and that at no point whatsoever will she try and do anything similarly bad to anyone at all, save for maybe (not to imply say a movie "Return to Sender" is a continuation to this) someone who tries to hurt her and in self defense only?

And do you think he has forgiven her and has the right to do so? Granted, there are many bad, evil and downright abusive men in the world out there with no conscience who sadly hurt women a lot, but Ben Affleck's character seems to be a normal guy, do you think that he will treat her with respect as well and that also, if Amy Dunn does NOT at any point get arrested or anything for whatever wrong she did in the movie, she has nothing to worry about and Affleck's friends and relatives must meet and greet her with open arms?

Or maybe she might become somewhat similar to that abusive wife character in the made for TV drama "Men Don't Tell" (1993) with Peter Strauss and constantly hit him and whatnot but he will gradually be forgiven until she ends up in a hospital or something and he can prove to the police it was her who started it and then they get a divorce but maybe she'll learn her lesson and become a better person without prison time or even mental hospital treatment, and also because she is attractive, maybe Ben Affleck's character could at least feel asthetically pleased for loving a girl who had good looks, despite whatever trouble she brought or potentially brought him, if he doesn't get killed by her that is.

Who knows?

OK I know Nick (Affleck) wasn't apparently a nice guy either, as it was revealed he did take advantage of her at some point, but still...

It seemed clear that by the end both had come to a new understanding of one another, both spouses recognizing their partner's underlying flaws and hidden persona. Pretty dark treatise on marriage.

Who knows? Nick will find out depending how he lives by the expression: Happy wife, happy life.

And on a slightly different note, although even with many a controversy around this film's themes and issues, and whatnot, do you think Amy Dunn was in any way right what she did to her husband? I mean, most people could say and would that its wrong, but it seems he himself wasn't always on the right track with her either.

And did she really have to kill that guy as well, and frame him for sexual assault too? (By the way, in the latter case, many have debated that if it really did happen and she was a victim, life sure as hell would've been a lot worse for her personally and she wouldn't have likely gotten any justice or have the man convicted, but with her framing him for it and then killing him, ironically she's in the clear, right?)

Also, what would you say from the end and overall that we've seen is the film's message? That yes although mostly it is men who are bad, women can too turn to a dark side (and do something that's against the law too) and it isn't right either, and judging from discussions here and there, doesn't make the many social problems go away either, including many in which men are sadly traditionally responsible for and women often are victims of.

I might be wrong, but I kind of gotten the kind of impression from it.

All I know is that if I were him, I would sleep in a separate room with a solid core door, three deadbolts, an iron drop bar, motion detectors and bars on the windows.

The ending reminded me of The Hot Spot where Don Johnson is more or less forced to stay with femme fatal Virginia Madsen. And also Basic Instinct where Michael Douglas must live in constant danger from Sharon Stone.
