Adults, what do you think of the caucasian casting of KFP 3?

from the adult POV, what do you think of caucasian actors cast as Asian characters?
Cast: cranston, hudson, hoffman, jack black as asian characters. Wrong and inappropriate for 2016, correct?

no

I'm undecided. Animation seems to be able to break the rules for casting, especially when the characters aren't even human. I'm not sure I put this in the politically correct category because an actor should be able to play many types of roles, including those of another ethnicity or even any gender. The other side of this is that Asian actors need more representation.

My guess is that they went for the big names to either draw audiences or to have some measure of credibility. I would have thought they could find talented people who don't charge as much and are still waiting for their chance.

You asked the question. What are your thoughts?

This triggered me. Reported for violating a safespace.

What do you mean?

reply

I'm offended that an Asian was cast to play a monkey.

reply

I think the best actors should be cast for the roles, regardless of race. So more white people should have been in Boyz in the Hood.

why do you assume that only adults should take part in this conversation?
