Love the show, except Josh Gad

Have a lot of doubt that this show will see the next season, while it's a great show, there's way way too much of the Skip character in it. Josh Gad is a good comedic actor, but this role is just way to over the top, he needs to either rain it in a lot or get rid of the character all together. Replace the Skip screen time with the two younger children, they are much more entertaining!!

I'm sure since JG was a creator of the show they will not get rid of him.
At first I thought he was a little annoying at first but the past few eps he's been hilarous. The podcast bit last Thursday was hilarous.

What kind of beast couldn't get along with a precious little girl like this?

his funniest line (probably his only funny one too) was "Why'd I wear a wig that's so much like my real hair?" the best performance on the show comes from Martha MacIsaac as Becca, but they can do so much better than a pregnancy storyline. there's some good stuff, enough for me to stick around, but not enough that i want it to continue for another season. hope it gets canned.

bump.

He's the only reason I watch the show!

He's so annoying. I do agree with OP, I enjoy the rest of the show.

reply

I agree with the OP, too. Gad takes up WAY too much screen time. Conversely, Pullman needs MORE screen time. The balance is all wrong.

This is kinda like saying, "I love 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show,' except for Mary Tyler Moore."

4) You ever seen Superman $#$# his pants? Case closed.

JG is hilarious. Definitely was VERY annoying the first 2 eps of the show.
After that, he's been on time with his jokes. The podcast ep was hilarious.
This past Thursday's ep with him trying to babysit is younger siblings was hilarious.

Skip just sucks the energy out of any scene he's in. The rest of the cast can be very funny on their own. There are some very talented people. Skip doesn't have to be in every *beep* scene! Frankly I don't know what Maureen Ryan was smoking when she said he was the best part of the show, but I wish she'd send me some. Then maybe I'd find him funny too.

Also I don't get how Josh Gad charterer even graduate college, this guy doesn't seem to be smart enough to take a customer order at MC Donald's he seems to have no book or street smarts or even have a decent conversation with anyone without saying something that a child would say, his younger brothers and sister seem smarter than him.

+1

I would prefer to focus on Pullman/Elfman.

Pulmann is making an excellent funny and interesting president.

Google is your enemy.

agree, he seems far too old for the character, what is he about 35?.

reply

I hate him, he`s a terrible actor!
He ruins this show, totally!

reply

I agree, the character that gad plays is totally annoying.
One problem with having one of the creators starring in the show is you have no control over his input. What he thinks is funny doesn't always translate as funny to an audience.
This is a classic example.

All I can say about this show is that it is 'Gad offal'!
