How did this get an 8!

WTF. Plot was all over the place and too complicated for it's own good.

Action was good but unrealistic and laughable at times.

Gotta love that scene in the prison where the two get shot trying to climb over only to see in the next frame there are two massive doors that are unlocked and get stormed by the guards haha

Like, I know Indonesia is corrupt and all but you think they would at least control their prisons, but no, he just gets away with multiple murders.
Meanwhile we have a girl on a train just whips out 2 hammers and none of the passengers are curious or scared until the knives come out
Then we got a guy who's the baseball equivalent of Hawkeye and could probably join the Avengers or at worst become a world class baseball player but decides to fight henchmen for a living

And then our hero who I'm just shouting at to pick up one of the bad guys weapons he just beat and start using it, you know, like what would happen in a real fight but seems to keep using his fists. Talk about arrogant

The high paced action was great but leave the unrealistic crap back in the 80's. The popularity of MMA means that people want to see realistic violence. You can see that in alot of Donnie Yen's modern films - they tend to have more MMA elements in them and less wushu.

A better question would be, how did it (the greatest action film of all time) NOT get higher than an 8.0?

Because there are people who swear by the Raid franchise when it comes to action choreography, I being one of them. Raid 2 perfectly blends noir and non stop action together.
