Of the few user reviews here so far, most of the "glowing" reviews are written by users who have only ONE review. You know which one? For this movie.
Most likely shills for the movie, or cast members, attempting to generate interest by giving it a high rating.
I was going to give it a try but now I won't, I object to this kind of dishonest pumping up of a movie.

The ratings were pretty decent on Rotten Tomatoes, too, which is what brought me to see it tonight.

Linda Lavin and Harris Yulin were great. Other acting, meh.
Too many characters. Too many plot lines diverting from the parent's story, which was compelling, interesting.
To be honest, when I read your question I had to look up the movie synopsis to remember the story, which isn't good, when a story is that forgettable days after you've seen it.
I'd say watch it if you have time, patience or aging family members. Reminds us to hold them dear before they leave or forget us.
