The "was she an angel?" thing...

...has been done too many times. Talking, of course, about the "mother" of the ICU patient who apparently passed away a few years ago.

I'm kind of hoping that was just a fake-out and there will be some rational explanation for the woman. This being "The Fosters," maybe she was Melanie's foster mother who considered her a daughter but never got to know her husband. I guess that makes it less likely she'd know he was coming back from China, but hey, she still could've heard it somewhere.

Anyway, I hope it turns out to be something like that so Lena can laugh at herself for starting to think she's in one of those movies where you realize you're seeing dead people. Play off the cliche, don't be the cliche.
