mixed feelings about the ending

the movie was overall pretty great, but who else hated the ending? I mean, not getting the record deal. All the hardships Dixie went through, I sort of hoped everything would turn out fine for him. This makes him a total failure, in terms of no band, no job, no money.
Although he got the girl and gets to settle down, he let that dick stole his band, which pisses me off

your thoughts?

We liked it. The wife and me. It was kind of his way of rejecting all the **** that goes with the job. He knew where real happiness lay....OK that's just us two old fogies jok. I see where you are coming from though. But that would be too Hollywood and that wood is a bit woodworn now eh ? Peace and love as Ringo always says.

It is sad, but it showed that he was a bigger person than any of the record producers. Who were, truly, all dicks.
In the end he chose true happiness.

And I guess, since the band had already proven they would turn from him, they wouldn't have derserved him anyways.

The ending was great! The band was such a bunch of back-stabbing moronic losers. That's what he realised, thank god. He kept his integrity. They would have never become big because they can't keep together, they're unprofessional and didn't care about the people who took care for them. But Dixie will go far because he was serious and worked hard.

He got the record deal and the 'best deal any indie band has ever got'. But I think good for him trashing the contract. His mate *beep* him over, not only scratching McGee's name off the list but by taking the band from under him and the band ultimately screwed him too. He found his true love in the end... I don't think he was a failure at all. Look where he got the band under self sacrifice. It's just the nature of the sleazy game of music.
