What Happened to Chris' Brother?

They are so close in the beginning of the film, yet he never contacts her again after he moves away. This didn't make sense to me. Wouldn't he at least have sent a letter? She never mentions him either.

Also not mentioned again are Chris' two younger siblings who were adopted by their aunt and uncle. Seems strange that she wouldn't want to see them again, especially after their father dies.

The Brother moved to Argentina - or somwhere in South America after marriage.

The children, I suppose were kept away because of hard times, who knows if they were even sent further away than their distant relatives/foster parents?

Chris's two younger brothers were mentioned by the aunt later in the film, but what happened to the twin babies? She had five siblings.

The mother poisoned the twins and herself.
