Beautiful but depressing
That's all I have to say about it.
You know what they say... no one with missing teeth wears an Armani suit.
Much as I like d it I can't disagree. Beautiful and (a little) depressing. A lot like real life.
shareDepressing, but seemed very realistic. Chris did so well in school and wanted to be a teacher, yet she would be stuck on that farm for the rest of her life. Her dreams were not fulfilled, and that was depressing.
shareI interpreted it in a more hopeful way than that: she absolutely loved the land (and the farm), and it was her decision not to go become a teacher after her father died (she could have sold the farm and finished her schooling), but instead to marry, have children, and work the land.
That is the overriding theme of the film: her love and connection to the land.
