This is nothing against Casey...

...but really, couldn't they have had the guy been wanting to kill someone else other than Casey?

He was already almost killed in two other storylines by a gun. It's getting old.

And not to be mean, but they could have had Stella be shot. Not killed or anything, but they needed to make it all more dramatic than it was. I was actually excited because I thought she was shot. And I do love Stella...it's just...

It's been done. It's always the same people nearly being killed--Kelly, Matt, or Christopher.

And then Otis and the rest of them just, I don't know...bite their fingernails?

It was logical that that nut head would try to kill Casey 'cause he as the one who left him in the fire...
And you do realise that Casey and Severide are two main characters, right? So it makes perfect sense that the major SLs are theirs...
Imagine someone complaining about House getting too much screen time on House MD. All that wasted time when they could have shown nurse Brenda for example. To me it sounds pretty much the same... :)

It isn't about them getting too much screentime.

It's about the others getting little to none at all. If it was someone else that might be shot at, it would be more believable that they might die than the main characters.

Not that I want any of them to die. But you know going into the show that Casey was going to survive.

And I have never seen House...so no clue who Nurse Brenda is. LOL

I just wish it was a little more like Rescue Me...where everyone had a storyline. Not just the main characters. Yes, they all have little storylines here and there...but they're usually resolved in one or two episodes.

Wait a sec, your screenname is "lovewatchinggoodtv" and you've never seen House but watch Chicago Fire?!

When 'House' started, it was kind of between the time I lost my dad and mom. She was ill, so I had to take care of her. A couple of years after that, I tried to watch 'House.' I couldn't make it through the first episode. It was just too soon and brought up too much stuff.

So nope, I didn't.

Yet I was able to watch 'Six Feet Under'. But again, that didn't focus on the illness that the people went through, just the funeral and stuff.

then you should start watching House now, the quality of that show is so much better than this crappy show

I agree that it's so repetitive and predictable that it's almost always either Casey, Severide or chief Boden in trouble or nearly getting killed...but considering the context of this storyline, it makes sense that the guy wanted to kill Casey, since it was Casey who left him in that building so of course his vendetta was with Casey. It wouldn't make much sense if he had wanted to kill anyone else from firehouse 51.
