For the most part it felt like I was watching some appalling house play at an all girls public school, in particular the painfully scripted intros and endings to each show.

Agreed. I laughed once or twice in each episode. I thought the relationship between the prison officer and the prisoner was sort of interesting, and I thought the character of "What are you doing Susan?" was well observed, although those actual sketches were not funny.

Yes, those intros were really awful. The sort of thing you and your mate come up with while you're down the pub after you've had a few and which gets you both laughing, but EVEN THEN you know it's not of broadcast quality.
I like the prisoner/guard one but I don't know, some of them are not good or they drag on far too long.
