For people who didn't get it

This is taking a potshot at Asylum the production company, who are notorious for pumping out awful low budget movies. This is sort of a tongue-in-cheek behind the scenes of what goes in to the actual making of an Asylum movie and the reasons they turn out so terrible. Mainly being they do everything they can to cut costs, the people in charge are scumbag creeps, the staff are underpaid and overworked, and basically no one has any clue what the hell is really going on. So they just cobble the footage they get together best they can and ship it out without really giving a damn.

So this is a satire and a middle finger to Asylum productions from After Dark productions, who are also known for putting out not so great low budget films. Once I realized what I was watching I was able to enjoy it a lot more. This is a comedy...NOT a real movie or horror movie.

Agreed. I think what some people are so upset about is that it wasn't billed as a comedy or satire (that didn't diminish my enjoyment of it, as I'd only read a description and had not seen the trailer or anything). I can understand it from that aspect.

It did take me a good 20 minutes or so into it until I realized the obvious nature of the film title coupled with the cheesiness of the movie. Had myself going 'duh.'

I'm only confused by the people who say it could have been a decent movie without the riffing. There's no way this was ever meant to be a good film lol.

Overall I liked the concept, but as I stated in another thread, I can enjoy pretty much any movie riffed based on my enjoyment of MST and Rifftrax. Some people just don't enjoy that kind of humor though, and I totally get that.
