Anna

This character is the worst of the bunch. The writers were so obvious in wanting to create a "strong, female" character, it's being forced down our throats. If there was a girl like that in that time period, she would have been put back into line quick smart. Doesn't help that the actress so is FCKING painful. Her speaking, her acting:' so HORRID

I'm inclined to agree with you. Anna and Gino are one part of the story is not sitting well with me. Anna is a princess but does show spunk. Gino is typical of his generation and upbringing and no doubt admired Anna's forthrightness in the beginning but expected her to behave like a "housewife" when they married. Two stubborn characters clashing with their cultural differences. I laughed in the episode when it was decided that the couple should "live" together to see if it would work out and Anna immediately assumed that Gino would come Ash Park.

I actually like and appreciate Anna because she seems like the one truly "pure" spirit on the show. She hasn't been tainted by any dark baggage like most of the other characters. The downside of that, of course, is that her character feels overly sunny sometimes and a bit of a caricature. She sure does try very hard to be bright and full of life and it can be a bit irritating sometimes. She is adorable though and I think most viewers probably forgive the character.

Now Gino, on the other hand, I find very irritating. He seems very contrived and not a truly living, breathing person. It's hard for me to accept him as a real character on the show.

I dislike both Anna and Gino. Gino is aggressive and jealous.
Anna is just irritating.

On another, totally unrelated thing, I have looked up the actress to see if she is part black. She has some black features, so I wondered if she is indeed part black.

Yeah, it's easy to dislike them both. Neither of them is particularly interesting like the other characters. They feel like they were carefully constructed to counter the other storylines. Feels overly fabricated.

I've always found Anna and Gino to be distractingly rather awful.

And now. We have Anna whining on and on and on about "lies" and forcing herself into family members's sensitive personal situations thinking she's the person to "tell all!" when...

...wait for it...she has a husband at home waiting for their first child he wants so badly to come along.

All the while knowing she cannot have children, based on what the doctor told her when she miscarried.

Lies? Her own are pretty major, while she's judging her entire family.

Her character is written in the most confused way and presented in equal measure as conflicting, confused and they just don't know WHAT to do with "Anna" after the Romeo and Juliet story ended with their marriage.

...I agree...thought it was hilarious when Anna, of all people, started wailing about "lies" her family members were telling and living....

Season 1 here and I already dislike the way the character wild girl Anna was written.

Ha! An early Anna fan! Not, huh?

Join the club.

I'd never knowingly or intentionally spoil any plot, since board members are all over the place in their viewing of series.

But will say for me Anna never improved much. She had her moments, but she largely just never became one of my faves--to say the least. :-))

Jack's probably my favorite character, after 4 series. For reasons I will not mention here for fear of any kind of spoiler. But he's just lovely throughout any kind of ups and downs he and other characters have in these soapy shows.
