Just watched! Oh how I would hate to be famous!
Just finished watching this and I have to say, it just clarified and cemented the idea that I would hate to be famous in this day and age. I've read a lot of comments on here about how celebs should stop complaining about being photographed, but from watching this it seems that it isn't the being photographed that's the problem....its how they get photographed.
Just because someone loves to make music, or act etc. and is lucky enough to be able to cement a career in this field, doesn't automatically mean they loose all rights to privacy. The fact that someone isn't able to feel safe in their own home because a fella with a camera, who calls himself a photographer, feels entitled to jump a fence and put a lense up to a bedroom window, makes me seriously worried about the society and culture we're in, that people think that's acceptable.
And as several people have said, I feel sorry for the kids. The papz have always seemed a bit like vultures but hearing that they almost pushed and trampled on a baby to get pictures is disgusting! Isn't there something wrong with grown men being allowed to take photographs of kids without any adult consent?? Seems bizarre that in this day and age where everyone is suspect, and parents have to sign forms to allow pics of their kids in a local newspaper and school magazine, that there isn't some law about paps and celebs kids..
Someone in this doc. said something along the lines of being interested in the next generation of celebrity...but it wasn't pointed out that just because someone has a famous parent, doesn't make them famous or even have any want of fame. Making a child a celeb because of their parents, puts them on the same level as Heidi and Spencer! Famous for nothing in particular. Mags will just boost them up to tear them back down...whether they asked for it or not.
Anyway..do I feel sorry for celebs after watching this? I kinda already did before. Not the money or the job or any of that..not even the being photographed, but being chased while driving, blinded by constant flashes, having no say or control over what's said/written/shown about you, pushed and prodded for a reaction so paps can get a photo...I am not envious of. Basically paps will always be there even when they're not needed, I just think there needs to be something in place to reign the animals in.
Oh and this was defo worth a watch. Good view of the cameras being turned on the paps for a diff view of things.
