Nicky is a useless piece of crap.

I don't know how scripted this show is, some have suggested that the whole show is, I don't know.

However...SPOLIERS...SPOILERS...SPOLIERS...SPOILERS...SPOLIERS...SPOILERS...SPOLIERS...SPOILERS...

He is not the oldest son, yet he tries to tell all his brothers how to live their lives, even when they offer him help, assistance and support. Bobby was the one who helped Nicky get his family back from Florida when his business failed and help get set up back in NY. He gave no thank you for that, only grief and beating up the car at the scrap yard.

His wife is no winner, but he treats her in a rude, disrespectful and extremely unkind way. The way he speaks to her, I can't believe she puts up with it. When they went to the car dealership, he made a comment about "could she walk any slower".

He cheats on her, no apology to her. If he doesn't want to be with her, then separate or divorce.

He is terrible in business and horribly jealous and envious of all of his brothers who are more successful than him, especially Bobby.

He threatens to pull his dad out of the rehab center, even though it is obvious that it is much better for him to be there and his dad WANTS to be there.

Lastly, the joint party for their kids. He ignores Christopher in his toast and Bobby lets this go. However, when Bobby also gives his son a car (which Nicky knew he was going to do in advance), Nicky starts a fight in front of the whole family. He is the one who ruined his son's party by making a scene. His son didn't care that his cousin also got a car, he was still so excited that he just got an awesome Cadillac. It was Nicky who cared, not Justin. Nicky is insecure, annoying and childish. His voice is grating.

HE IS A DISGRACE.

I agree with you on all those counts. But one thing I don't get is why his wife continues to stay with him. It's obvious she's not happy in the marriage either. Why doesn't she just throw him out? She's the main bread winner in the family, she can support herself and the kids. Or can only the Romani men file for divorce and not the women?

That's a good question. I get that's she's pretty traditional, but she obviously can't stand him and puts up with endless crap from him. If they allow divorce in their society, it would seem that they would both be better off starting off with someone else. She can go support herself and their kids and he can go find someone else to sponge off of. Tina won't like it, but it can't be good for those kids to be with parents who fight nonstop and who treat each other like crap and with disrespect.

Well they do allow divorce but I think only men can meet with the elders and divorce their wives. But women can't meet with the elders for some reason. When Bobby met with the elders to divorce his wife, there were only men in the room. When Tina showed up Bobby told her she couldn't go inside.

But yeah, Nicky and Christine need to end their marriage. But who else would put up with Nicky? I'm sure he has a reputation in the community for being the way he is. What other woman would want him?

reply

I can't imagine anyone would want him. He just wants to blame everyone else for the sad way his life has turned out. He never wants to take any responsibility for the poor choices he makes.

I think you're right about that, she likely cannot request a divorce. However, it seems like she does have the option to physically leave him and if I were her I would do so and fast. Then maybe if enough time went by, Nicky would realize she was never coming back and request the divorce to free them both.

That sounds logical. Hopefully she has enough sense to leave him, After all, Bobby's wife left him, so I don't think it's frowned upon.

Maybe Nicky is one of those people who has to hit rock bottom before they can change. It looks like he's starting to change in the next episode. We'll see.

For the children's sake, she doesn't want to divorce, and that is understandable. Divorce can affect a child greatly. Not all but most.

However, just looking at him annoys me, and I would leave in a heartbeat if I were Christine, but that's just me. I don't know anything about the family, so I can't tell her what she should or should not do.

She said she's stayed with him all these years because of the kids but know they're getting bigger and growing up. She said she left Nicky once before but came back and gave him another chance. But now, he doesn't get another chance. She told Sylvia that if she leaves him she was taking the kids.

She did threaten to leave Nicky and I think that was the push he needed to give up drinking. Don't know if that would change his over all personality but it's a start.

Now let's see how long he can stay sober.
