Using a BBFC banned rating to the best advantage...

Like with Human Centipede 2I wonder if the ban will be lifted on this film in a few years time.

Also I am interested that both films seem to be touted as "horror movies."
In my opinion Human Centepede 2 lacked the psychological depth to be a horror movie.
In this regard I would be more inclined to call "7even" a horror movie.

My personal opinion was Human centipede 2 came across more like a soft porn film. But one based on rules that are banned by the R18 rating.
Is hate crime any different?

In some ways I feel like Cannibal Holocaust has really set the standard for these kind of films in terms of violence and context.

Perhaps it is unfair to compare movies in this way?
But Flim makers have a powerful medium with R18 certificate in that they can easily have a film "Banned" and gain the attention from that.
Now we need deeper political, spiritual and ethical material that can engage the viewer.

Pure Sadism will never be fully convincing. Look at any interview with serial killers and you can see that they are not superhuman bogey men. But sway from sadism to masochism.
Also they have more sides.Even moral ones.

It doesn't matter, because either way it shows us what a corrupt board the BBFC are, banning films to suit their image and violating our rights in the process. I hope the film's ban is lifted soon enough (hopefully this petition will speed up the process: https://www.change.org/p/bbfc-david-cameron-mp-reconsider-your-hate-crime-rejection-and-grant-it-a-certificate) but for now, this is what's happening and quite frankly, it stinks. Luckily, the director's other films are being submitted for classification, and hopefully they'll have more success, but for now, this is banned and it sucks. Thanks, media outlets, Mary Whitehouse, Graham Bright and co. You wanted banned films, now you've got them.

Is this a joke? This movie is lame and could never be influential.

True, but due to the BBFC's utter stupidity, they believe that anyone who sees it might be supposedly "corrupted" by it, and will therefore ban it because of it. Silly, isn't it?
