Peculiar Reference To jodorowsky's Unfilmed Version of''DUNE'

Alright, just watched this film. I found it to be a fun b-movie.

But what I found most peculiar was what i swear is a reference to the HR Giger painting which was originally intended as a design piece for Jodorowsky's version of DUNE.

I'm talking about the spaceship/asteroid that served as the exterior to Hell's Courthouse. At the front of this ship is a Skull, with a long projectile coming out of its eye. This really looks uncannily like the famous Giger painting.

I'm not surprised coming from Lechago, whose background is in painting and fine arts. Still a nod I wouldn't have expected.

I didn't realize the Giger connection myself, but I would have to agree with you! I have discovered another artist that directly influenced the spaceship model. Have you heard of Kris Kuksi? You should check his stuff out. Very interesting!

Very interesting John! I haven't heard of Kris Kukski, I'll have to check his stuff out. In modern times we are just a Goggle search away!

Thanks for replying, really enjoyed the movie by the way.

I thought the astroid/spaceship was a reference to Full Moon's "Dr. Mordered" which had a similar concept for its Thor like dimension.

Also reminded me of the ending of The Neverending Story where astroids are floating around after The Nothing takes over.
