Did I miss something?
At what point was it stated that Andy had died? I remember him being in hospital and then all of a sudden there was the funeral scene. Was it said beforehand that he had died?

Rocksavage goes to see Andy in hospital and we see his room empty and the nurses taking away the old bedding.

Andy's hospital room wasn't empty. As Sav is walking towards it, someone (his sister or maybe girlfriend) is outside the room crying & being led away (possibly by his or her parents). At this stage you can guess that he has just died. Then you see into his room and the nurses are packing things away and taking them out of the room, which confirms that Andy has died. Andy is still in the bed and Sav goes in and holds his hand.
