Won't Waste My Time

After reading the reviews on here, I won't even waste my time with this movie. If it comes on Netflix where I can stream it, I might check it out for a few minutes, but otherwise, it doesn't sound very good. This was just released on DVD as well. I'm always looking for new martial arts films and have watched 100's of them over the 30yrs. Here is a Top 10 list of popular films you must see.

1. Fist of Legend (Jet Li)
2. Drunken Master 2 (Jackie Chan)
3. Drunken Master (Jackie Chan)
4. Iron Monkey (Donnie Yen)
5. Ip Man (Donnie Yen)
6. 36 Chambers of Shaolin (Gordon Lui)
7. Tai Chi Master 1 & 2 (Jet Li / Jacky Wu)
8. Once Upon A Time In China 1, 2, 3 & 6 (Jet Li) #4 & #5 was with another actor.
9. Magnificent Butcher
10. Ip Man 2

Here is a Top 10 of films you may not have heard of.

1. Fong Sai Yuk 1 & 2 (Jet Li)
2. Fearless Hyena (Jackie Chan)
3. Wing Chun (Michelle Yeoh)
4. Kung Fu Hustle (Stephen Chow)
5. Shaolin Soccer (Stephen Chow)
6. Challenge of the Ninja (Gordon Lui)
7. The Buddhist Fist (Shun-Yee Yuen & Siu Ming Tsui)
8. Dragon Tiger Gate (Donnie Yen)
9. Shaolin vs. Lama (Chi Ping Chang & Yi Tao Chang)
10. 5 Deadly Venoms. (

Of course there are a LOT more great martial arts flicks, but these 20+ will keep any fan busy for hours.

If your list contains Jet Li's Hero or Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, The Banquet, Seven Swords, et al., i.e. films with a mix of elements of fantasy, romance and wire-fu martial fighting, then this film will fit right in. The fighting is incidental backdrop for the story to be told.

The lists above probably have older "golden age" films whose titles have been anglicized beyond recognition. "Fearless Hyena"? Anyways, I would think "Killzone, S.P.L" earned a spot solely on the finale between Donnie Yen and Sammo Hung.

I see you mention Once Upon A Time In China 1, 2, 3 & 6 (Jet Li) #4 & #5 was with another actor. As a matter of interest, the man chosen to replace Jet Li in episodes 4 and 5 is the lead actor in Wu Dang. His name is Zhao Wen-Zhou aka Vincent Zhao.

Letting others' reviews decide for you which movies you like and which you don't is about the dumbest thing you can do. Give it a chance man, it's a good movie!
