Decent leads, acting, terrible looking monster, plodding story 5.4/10

Ought never have shown the monster.
The instant belief and exaggerated fear in the beast was silly.
Should have gone for a subtle approach, and if you don't have a decent looking monster,
use a stuntman wearing a costume hidden in shadow. That's why some old horror flicks are still good.

5.4/10 decent acting, likable characters, and some interesting backstory.

first a Gravesender.now a New Yorker.always a Gravesender.

I liked what they tried to do, but felt the execution was off. So while it isn't 'bad' per se, it felt like something of a missed opportunity

What instant belief and exaggerated fear though? The main character panicked after people died, then continued to be overly optimistic about the situation. If anything they downplayed the fear.
