Wow, even I have to admit I'm impressed! After its big second weekend drop, the naysayers were giddy. But lo and behold Homecoming proved to be popular and have staying power. So now, I can rub it in! 😁 Now whether it can still have a shot at becoming the highest grossing Spider-Man film or not (it's so close), the truth is this movie is a massive hit. Looking forward to the sequel!
I'm not usually concerned with how much a movie makes, but it is a good indication that the franchise will continue.

shareGarfield skipped out on some promotional thing, which got him fired and while ASM movies did business, they didn't make as much as Sony was hoping for. They are both the least grossing spidey movies so far and, iirc, ASM 2 made less money than the first. Also, they had a lot of failed ideas for sequels and spin-offs that never got off the ground for one reason or another. It just wasn't happening.
