It's a good enough movie I guess. Better than Andrew's spm, but that is not saying much as anything is better than that lol. But no spm 2 with Tobey will always be the best.

Yes I mean there is wayy to much mcu in this film, but hey that is what this film is really about, it's an mcu spinoff basically

It's best someone who not only likes Raimi's movies, but also really liked Homecoming to chime in on this. So here I am. :) Truth be told, it's kind of difficult for me to say if this one is better than Spider-Man 2 because that movie is so highly acclaimed. Then again, Homecoming got tons of praise as well, and so is it necessarily worse than SM2? I would say not at all. For starters, this movie is absolutely stellar from a filmmaking standpoint (it shines visually). Furthermore, it has all the fun humor and wit that anyone who's willing to enjoy a lighter Spider-Man can appreciate. Not to mention it features a relatable standout villain, a fun supporting cast, and best of all a Spider-Man that IS amazing.

Having said that, it's left up to the viewer to decide if Holland (and the movie itself) made the best Peter Parker/Spider-Man, or that his portrayal is even accurate. To me he defined the character.... a young, dorky web-slinger who cracks jokes, seeks adventures and acceptance by earth's mightiest heroes while trying to balance normal teenage stuff? Holland is a natural fit for the role, he's perfect. As for its tie-in with the MCU and The Avengers, while admittedly the connection is significant, Homecoming nevertheless feels like a proper Spider-Man adaption. (Yes, Homecoming is my favorite Spider-Man movie to date.)

Lastly, Stark does play a key role in the movie, but contrary to popular belief he doesn't end up taking space whatsoever, so to speak. He has a father-son relationship with Peter that's genuinely heartfelt; basically he shows up when he needs to.

No.

Interesting assessment.

Now obviously that's a no for you and plenty of others on this board who've repeatedly slammed this movie (rarely is the criticism constructive), but as always I go yes.

Frankly I like the ASM movies best. But no. Frankly this movie is a 6/10 at the best. The best parts of the movie involved Spider-Man and Vulture but the highschool setting sucked imo. There's only so many ways you can do the story of Peter getting picked on in highschool before it gets too stale. I also don't see this Flash becoming anything like the character of the comics. Plus the fact Peter really isn't even an outsider in the school is also an issue for me. Peter isn't even really verbally bullied by anyone but Flash. Sure everyone chants Penis Parker but pretty well most everyone in the school is as nerdy and into science as Peter is. Really Flash is only jealous of him because he's smarter than him. Which is just not what the character in the comics was ever about.

I really enjoyed 'Homecoming' but 'Spider-Man 2' is still the best Spidey film to date.

No. Too much of it was contrived and forced, the action sequences were there simply because it was time for them to be there, and the SJW diversity bullshit was so blatantly being shoved down the viewer's throat it was actually distracting.

It's a toss up between Spider-Man 2 (Raimi one) and this one. Both are excellent.

If there's a complaint I can find with Homecoming - I thought some of the nighttime action scenes went on too long and the movie was, ironically, losing steam even with so much action happening. The Washington scene was great though, as was the barge scene (I wish the trailers didn't show so much of it).

Its not even the best Spidey movie of the 2010's, so no.
