How come people tolerate a third Spider man reboot in 15 years?

I mean I know this was almost critically acclaimed movie, but fuck. Aren't people just sick of Spidey by now?

reply

For fuck's sake, it's not the third reboot in 15 years, it's the second.

Raimi's films weren't a reboot (unless you count the 70s made-for-TV films). The two reboots were ASM and SM:H.

Obviously not. As others have said, this is a third Spider-man series, not a third reboot. Plus, this is the first Spidey movie to be a part of the MCU, which is what people are exited about.
this point has been made. Your comment is played out and meaningless.

How come people tolerate a second thread erroneously stating that this is a third reboot?

I decided to never watch comic book movie again. I'm so tired by the genre. So that's it, and i don't care what critics say.

reply

I dont think I've seen a Marvel comic movie in theaters since Blade Trinity and the last overall might have been Dark Knight Rises. These movies have zero substances. It's for nerds and stupid teens. Nope it was Logan and that movie kinda sucked. I only went because those nerds and teens were given it such high praise and it didn't deserve any.

Because the Andrew Garfield ones were so terrible, we're willing to forgive and forget they ever happened.

reply

I don't even know why they made those ones, Couldn't we have a 4th movie with toby? and still be part of the MCU.

reply

Sony made the Andrew ones simply to keep the rights to SPM. Seriously. The rule is if you don't make a movie in x amount of years or something you lose the rights. The law...lol

Yeah I would have loved a 4th movie with Tobey. Tbh Amazing spm with Andrew made Spm3 with Tobey look like a MASTERPIECE! Spm3 was not that bad I recently re-watched the Tobey spm movies and they were all great! Seriously re-watch them and you'll see.

Toby was ill-fitted enough as Peter Parker when he was 32. The last thing we need is him trying again at 42, especially when we have Peter Parker personified in Tom Holland.

reply

Those were better than this one.

reply

You and me both. I think some people are just jumping on the bandwagon. The superhero genre is vapid and devoid of any real pertinent emotion. Hollywood is just milking a cash cow.

I can see this current Tom Holland universe going to 3-4 films. And then wait about four years and we'll get another reboot.

Sony will keep making them as long as it lets them hold onto the rights to Spider-Man. They will collaborate with Marvel but not completely hand over such a huge money-making franchise like this.
