Just over a week away...

I've been watching Spectacular Spider-Man and the '67 animated series to get ready. I cannot wait. This movie better be as good as the critics are saying.

Is everyone here excited or worried about what next week will bring?

I'm optimistic. I'm not sure if I'll love it as much as the Raimi movies but I already like Tom Holland more than Andrew Garfield and there appears to be more thought and care given to this movie than Amazing Spider-Man so if it falls in the middle, I'll be happy..

I've never felt this excited for a Spider-Man movie before (sorry my 10 year-old self... the Raimi ones might not feel that special after this one). And no, I'm not worried in the slightest. If the movie is remotely as fun and engaging as it looks in the trailers... the several reviews I've read can attest to that... then I know I can expect an entertaining and pleasing movie. And considering it looks impressive from a filmmaking standpoint, I can say with certainty that I will have another favorite to add in the Marvel and superhero movie list.

I'm making plans to be anywhere else when it debuts so I don't have to watch this detestable, corporatized bastardization of the greatest superhero character ever.

I had my worries regarding the director (Cop Car was great but Clown was just stupid) and some SEVERE concerns that Sony would still find a way to screw the pooch on this.

Thankfully the reviews seem to indicate this film is a winner, and a breath of fresh air for us die-hard Spidey fans. If I had to guess I'd say this probably won't be as good of a movie as Spider-Man 2, but at least as good or better than the first; and much more accurate to the books.

Plus, we've got that Laura Harrier eye candy, which is certainly a plus.
