Olivia Colman's Acting is Superb! [Spoilers S1]

She is a gem throughout the whole series, but I want to write about a specific scene. When Hardy tells her the murderer is Joe.. She broke my heart in that scene. The most emotionally devastating scene I have seen in a long time, mostly due to Colman's acting. Watch the moment Hardy walks around the table to sit next to her. She leans back as if trying to shield from the blast of what he is about to tell her. Every moment is true. Colman is a treasure!

Yes but whoever did her hair should be taken out and horn-swaggled!

I love her! In this show though, all I can think about is her in Hot Fuzz. Haha

Because of the accent?! LOL. I live in Dorset, and visit West Bay (where the costal stuff is filmed) frequently, and I can pretty much say that to find accents like those that are used in Broadchurch you'd need to go another 30 miles west into Devon, or better still, go to Bristol. Dorset is technically west country, but not that west country.

That was a great scene and Olivia Colman was terrific, as was David Tennant. That was probably one of my favorite scenes in the series and one of the most moving. I really felt terrible for poor Ellie. The life she had known was over in that moment and was never going to be the same again.

Oh my gosh, you are right about the moment when the DI comes around the table to her side. Heartbreaking.

I completely disliked her in ALL three seasons. That snarky face was really too much to bear.
