So whats the storyline with Susan Sarandon's character?

I'm following every other story fine but maybe i haven't paid good enough attention to this one, but what exactly is her character's storyline this season? They've just shown so little of her and when they've shown her i couldn't really figure what was going on, maybe i missed some lines of dialogue or something.
