Makeup, Computers, Cursing, Public School, etc etc

I know there's a lot of controversy over whether this was scripted. Obviously some parts are, BUT, it still doesn't explain the other things.

They have computers, they wear english clothing, they go to public school, the girls wear makeup, everyone takes the lords name in vain (ie: OH God, God I can't believe this, God look at that, etc etc) they ALL drink and many get drunk, they live in modern homes with microwaves and such, they have fancy decorations in their homes and pictures on the wall, they play video games. What makes them Hutterites? They're more like modern farmers. I'm asking because I saw a documentary made in the 70s about Hutterites and everything was about God, family and work.

Am I missing something here?
