I didn't need to watch the show to know there is no reason to do so

In the event they actually came across a real UFO out in the field and captured it on all their equipment, there is no way that info would wait until the episode was edited and ready for viewing on television, and that is in the most unlikely situation that the government or powers that be would allow them to air such information. I mean, there is no way such life changing info, shattering the current world view on the entire universe and our place in it, would wait until the show was prepared to show it.

So i think it is 100% true that we know beforehand that the UFO chasers will never actually "catch" a UFO. With that knowledge, there is absolutely no reason for this show to exists, and even less so, to actually watch it.

In regards to tv stations airing good information in regards to alien visitation, I highley recommend Dan Ackroid unplugged on UFOs:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0470994/

While its obviously a low, low budget production, you know Dan is doing it for his desire to share his experiences with the phenomena and someone with a bit more status then the general public, most likely has access to info and people we don't. And in this particlar case, we can rule out that he's doing it for attention, I mean he's a ghost buster. Come on now. But in it, he discusses what happened with a show he was working on and was ready to air, but got canceled and he was never told why. Some other stuff happened in regards to it, but I'll leave that for your viewing. It's on netflix instant streaming.
