Why is nobody discussing this?

The title alone sounds hilarious! And the fact Erik Estrada is in it as well? This can only be guilty fun!

I'll be checking it out because I've written a few chupacabra books(soon to be released) and a few screenplays and I am curious to see how they handle the critters. Chupacabras are very under-represented in the horror genre and I am going to play a part in changing that.

reply

Thank God! I was just saying the other day that there are too few chupacabra movies out now.

From what I can tell by looking at the credits for the cast, this was made in Canada -- once again Canada stands in for the American Southwest. (Another example is "The Lost Treasure of the Grand Canyon," filmed in British Columbia, where I'm sure they have many giant desert canyons...)

As a one-time resident of Texas, I've been to the Alamo more than once, and I look forward to seeing how well they've replicated the old mission.

The three photos shown here so far show everyone dressed for cool weather, so it must have been shot in B.C. in August but set in Texas in December. (Yes, that's another Canadian climate joke.)

I'm really looking forward to this one!

This must be a SyFy film! Can't wait to get a good laugh watching this film.

Take that finger out of your ear! You don't know where it's been!

It will suck on every level possible. What's to discuss?

It will not be able to sustain a score above 5 is my prediction. Long term, maybe a high 4.n score. That's optimistic.

I agree! I hope it's "so bad it's good" rather than painfully awful.

I wasn't able to sleep last night in anticipation of the film. I am literally pacing the floors waiting for it to start.

Thanks mam13143, for letting us know that the Chupacabras are free from bondage, oppression, or restraint.

perhaps we are all speechless? But I'm going to watch because there's nothing like a cheesy Syfy channel movie for giving you laughs.

reply

Watching it now. Lots and lots of little chupracabras eating lots and lots of people. Interesting take on the legend with a lot of the creatures looking like emancipated dogs. Estrada is okay in the lead. His bike is named the Alamo otherwise don't look for it. The CGI is typical syfy standards, maybe a little less. Blood by the gallon. Doubt I will finish watching the whole thing. Oh now a band of the rascals are running toward the city. The teens are so dumb you have to start rooting for the 'cabras. Good luck. Still I have to confess I am a syfy junkie. Take them for what they are.

I've got to admit, the stunt casting worked. I wouldn't have watched this without the draw of seeing Erik Estrada in it. I think he's actually pretty good as the headliner. No Oscars in the future, but he's putting in some effort and having fun while doing so.

I love to love my Lisa.
