There are two categories of religious right Christians

1. Those who have been caught committing adultery and worse.
2. Those who have not yet been caught.

That's the only two categories?

Anyway... I look at it this way: people are people, there's not one perfect person on the planet, Christian or otherwise.

That being said, your post is true. Why do people assume that being a Christian separates said Christian from behaviour that is frowned upon? Same thing goes for a Muslim or Scientologist?

I agree it's amusing when anyone says one thing in public, but does another in private, but seriously, people aren't perfect.

I know this thread is about one topic, but not many people in government are really qualified to be there.... on both sides of the aisle.....

Which is why in my opinion, most (and I say most....) social issues shouldn't be in play in the governments eyes.... If we let citizens choose on their own and not let it get to the national stage, we wouldn't be having this discussion to begin with...

There are two categories of human beings, all of whom are sinners:

*Those who are saved by putting their faith in Jesus' finished work on the cross
*Those who do not {yet} believe

I have never heard a Christian claim to be perfect. Christians have a very good guideline that they aspire to. They know when they fall short and they ask forgiveness and try not to repeat the error.
Don't non-believers commit adultery, also? They do the deed, they just have no standard by which it is wrong or any better behavior to aspire to.
All fall short of perfection. You could say that conservative Christians set the bar high and keep trying while non-believing liberals set the bar low. When they fail they just lower the bar instead of making an effort to meet the standard.

Hilarious. This from the guy who thought that when the Andrea Gail sank in the Perfect Storm that all the swordfish in the hold swam to freedom.

Seriously, that's what he thinks. Don't listen to ANYTHING this guy has to say.

^The irony of that coming from a rabid Obama supporter is amazing...and hilarious.

it's not that "Atheists don't cheat". anyone can/will cheat if they want.

the difference is that a devoted Christian, who cheats is clearly defying the word of the person they are trying to worship/impress.

an atheist doing it, is just an *beep* but they aren't believing in something with a list of things that you shouldn't do... and then doing them.

hence, Many Christians are hypocritical.

Many Christians are hypocritical.

I'm not completely anti-atheist. If you choose not to believe in God, that's your opinion.

But when atheists try to force their beliefs on others, like it was a… wait, there's a word for it, what was it… RELIGION!!! That's when I start to have a problem with it.

Atheists can be hypocrites too.

I didn't say Atheists can't be. I only noted that a lot of christians are.

I am also neither Atheist, nor Christian.
