I actually though the acting was really good. Probably because most of the actors are seasoned. I thought Marco was the only one a little off, but overall I really liked the movie.
I do, however, think they should have ended it with a wrap-up of what happened with the musical. The main reason why Harper went there (the bring back her daughter for the show) was forgotten.
technically, it was wrapped up. the mother was given the option of choosing to be young forever and be a star or to keep the family she was meant to have. As the backers had already said that they were replacing the mother if they replaced the daughter and the father wanted a "more even" relationship with the mother; it seems that when the grandmother had the tonic at the end of the movie, it was well wrapped up.
