Not a good start for AP

1) Pounded viewers to death with Animap Practice promos. By the time the Olympics were over, everyone was sick of AP. One thing about comedy is that it's funny the first time, but jokes get old very fast. Cute and funny becomes annoying very fast.

2) Racism controversy. Moments after NBC aired coverage of the smiling african american Gabby Douglas winning the gold, NBC immediatly cut to an AP promo showing a smiling monkey doing gymnastics. While this was completly coincidental and unintended... it left a very bad taste in many people's mouths, and caused NBC to issue an appology a few days later. This wasn't done intentionally... just a bad job of miscommunication and scheduling.

3) NBC cuts away from the closing ceremonies of the Olympics to show a promo for Animal practice and then show local news. For east coast viewers, this pushed the rest of the closing ceremonies back until midnight on a work night, and incensed viewers nation wide.

None of this is the fault of the actors or talent on the show, but how NBC has handled the promotion of the show thus far has been very poorly. I for one haven't even seen the show yet, but already hate it.

NBC sucks. We all know it.

Don't forget 4) It was a piece of dog sh-t.

I guess I'm the only person that liked it. I thought it was really funny.

The only thing NBC did wrong is apologize for the "racism controversy". There was nothing wrong with their communication or scheduling. It's not their job to guess every little thing some oversensitive idiots might whine about.

In most cases involving people being offended or political correctness, I would agree with you, but when I saw that promo, my first thought was "I can't believe they just did that."

It wasn't just the monkey, but the fact that they just finished showing a smiling picture of a black gymnast with a big grin... then within seconds, you see a monkey with a big grin in a gymnastic suit holding onto rings. I know it was a terrible coincidence, but come on!
